The Albuquerque SQL Server User Group (ABQSQL) will be having its next meeting on Friday, January 12th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Hospital Services Corporation, 7471 Pan American Freeway NE.

Bill Wolf from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will be sharing his insights about analyzing query performance using the new Query Store feature in SQL Server 2016 and 2017. Please join us for his remote presentation “Introduction to Query Store and How it Can Help You”. Ask Wolf your SQL questions, get to know your peers, and have lunch on us!

Presentation description: "I have been a DBA for over 17 years and I have been waiting for Microsoft to provide something as significant as the Query Store feature. Query Store will natively create baseline data.

This session will be an introduction to Query Store. At the end of this session, you will understand how to configure query store and how the setting affect what is stored. You will get to review the SSMS reports for Query Store. You will also see how you can force SQL Server to use a specific query plan.

We will even see how Query Store can help you track wait statistics for individual queries in SQL Server 2017.

Query Store will make analyzing performance much more fun than it used to be regardless if you are a DBA or developer."
